Bill Batcher’s inspiring text closely follows the lesson, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40). It powerfully addresses a breadth of social concerns, many which we face in the world today.
I wanted the beginning of the piece to be “invisible” and come out of nowhere. It would be as if the song has begun before anyone noticed. This contrasts to the powerful and emotional ending in which the choir sings strongly, “I am here!” Each verse builds in intensity, bubbling with a new message and driving with determination to be heard.
Each The solo line can feature one soloist or several and is accompanied by an a cappella choir. Moderately difficult if sung a cappella.
