Future Seasons

I first met Ira (the poet and collaborator of this choral work) when we both sang in Long Island Symphonic Choral Association. We both sang tenor in this brilliant group.

It was much later that I learned he had lost is nephew to an accidental overdose.

Addiction is a crisis, for the individual, the family, especially children, and the community surrounding the addict.

My hope is that the performance of “Pay the Ferryman for David Aaron” raises awareness of the opioid crisis.
And maybe, just maybe, a singer struggling with an addiction feels support enough to reach out for help, either for themselves or family or friends.
